Brisbane Convention Centre, located at Southbank is one of Australia’s premier venues for world class events, exhibitions and conferences, boasting in excess of 179 accolades or accreditations for its range of offers and services and gives clients a seamless experience of the highest standard to take events to amazing new levels.
Interior Fitouts successfully tendered to partner with the Brisbane Convention Centre to rejuvenate its Exhibition Halls canteen facilities. The Interior Fitouts Directors and Management Team collaborated closely with Brisbane Convention Centre Operations and Management Team to ensure smooth project progression with 40 contractors on site and detailed change management as the project developed to deliver the very best result.
The 400sqm Canteen areas included full kitchens and serveries across 4 locations of the Convention Centre within the Exhibition Halls. It was a 3-months fitout, from demolition, project management and manufacturing through to completion. These areas of the convention centre are high traffic, with thousands of people using these areas for major exhibits throughout the year – therefore durability of all fixtures and fittings was essential. Life expectancy of these areas must be 15 to 20 years therefore the choice of materials, fixtures and fittings took careful consideration to meet this specific objective.
This project was completed in 2008. It was delivered on time, on budget and is still in use today demonstrating its quality, longevity and fit for purpose. Interior Fitouts continue to enjoy a reliable and good working relationship with the team at the Convention Centre.
